Hi,
Could some one please suggest me the Hardware requirements to accommodate following new BO 6.1a modules/users as mentioned below.
We are planning to bring on board the following new modules.
Designer 4
Supervisor TBD
Dashboard Manager 250
Set Analyzer 250
Auditor 250
Broadcast Agent Publisher 250
Broadcast Agent Scheduler 250
Web Intelligence (Exp/Rep) 250
Beside our current BO 6.1a modules/users.
Designer 4
Supervisor 1
BO Full Client 20
Web Intelligence (Exp/Rep) 250
Can we have all the modules to run on single server?
Can our current server configuration withstand it?
Currently we have it on single server with following configuration.
Our Server is a 2650 has two 2 Gig processors, 4 Gig of memory and the max processors are two.
Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server Service Pack 3
IIS 5.0 - For ASP application
Browser: Internet Explorer 5.5
Middleware: SQL Server 2000
E.G.)Web Intelligence and Broadcast Agent on the same server or on different servers. And what is the best practice to follow?
How about Dash Board, Set Analyzer and Auditor?
What hardware configuration we need for 100 concurrent users in web intelligence?
How to simulate load test in Business Objects?
We have one supervisor license. Do we need more licenses? (We have one General Supervisor, planning to create Four Supervisors to manage their group)
Depends when the scheduled documents will run: during the day or mostly/only during off-hours?
Depends on what kind of documents they are going to refresh: Full Client documents versus WebI documents. Would you consider switching server OS from Windows server to Unix?
Any load testing tool such as loadrunner etc. should do.
Depends on your licensing agreement: Usually, every person who is using Supervisor will need his/her own supervisor license to be legal, even if all persons share the same Business Objects Supervisor ID (which would be bad pratice anyway). The same holds true for Designer.
The best person to ask is your company’s attorney/counsel and the Business Objects Sales representative.
Hi Andreas,
Thanks for your response. as you suggested we will try to follow up with
Business Objects Sales representative.
