I have a universe that was created in 6.5. I changed the connection to shared, saved it for all users, and then opened the universe in XI Release 1.
Once opened, I changed the connection to secured and exported to my CMS. In fact, I have re-exported the universe several times today as I have made a few minor tweaks to objects.
I have verified that the universe is in the CMS. I am able to create queries against it with Webi without any problems.
Now, when I try to open the universe or re-import the universe, I receive the follow message:
You are not authorized to use this document (FRM 00008)
Details: The universe could not be found in the Central Management Server. Possible causes include:
The universe may have been deleted from the CMS
You may not have access rights to view the universe
The CMS may be unavailable
I did verify that the universe has not been deleted from the CMS. As I said earlier, I can create queries without any problems. I verified my rights in CMS and see that I have full control over the universe. I know the CMS is available or I would have a lot of angry clients screaming at me.
I still have my original 6.5 version that I could re-import into XI. But, I will then lose my tweaks that I made this morning.
You can not save a universe with “Save for all users” with a secured connection and you can not export a universe into the repository unless you have a secured connection.
What I have to do is export the universe into 6.5. Then, I use the import wizard to migrate the universe over to my XI environment.
The only reason that I was creating the universe in 6.5 is that I could make my changes and then see the impact of the changes in Full Client before I exported the universe into the repository.
Once we move to R2, I will be able to see my changes without exporting the universe since R2 has the Desktop Intelligence product.
