Formula syntax in CR 2008

Hi,

I am searching for a document that explains the syntax of the formula editor in Crystal Reports 2008; te Crystal Reports Help tells me:

Oh yea… Unfortunately, also on the SAP support portal I couldn’t find a suitable documentation…

Thanks!

I just use Formula Workshop and the CR 2008 Help. ** One very important tip - you can user either Crystal OR Basic Syntax. ** And the help files also always refer to both. Check the top tool bar for drop-down selection in order to set this. I know I struggled a lot before I found this out.
Hope it helps.

Hmmm…not sure what you’re looking at but - see attached Word doc.

Also, see

This particular one is for CR 2008 SP3 but you can find other version guides there, too.

OK, I am going to refer to the Crystal Reports Help… one more question: Basic or Crystal Syntax? Where is the big difference? I only found the hint “Almost any formula written with one syntax can be written with the other.”.

Thanks!

The only difference is the syntax itself; you have the same functionality in either. Crystal Syntax models itself after a C syntax; Basic models itself after Visual Basic syntax.
