Format/Template for BO Report Understanding/Design Document

I want to prepare a document on the functgionality and working of my existing BO Reports. Any Idea how shall it will look better. Does any body have any template/format on that? I am not getting any clues how shall I put the functionality of BO Report in document. Reports are developed by somebody else and I don’t have any previous decument on that.

Some suggestions from my document.

  • Explain about the information of each report tab.
  • State what are all the conditions used
  • Explain each table and chart about its significance
  • Explain about the error messages they might get while using the report

Just a suggestion. There was a great presentation at the users conference by Stephanie Lyons that dealt with a technique to document a Business Objects report. This is accomplished with a macro that breaks down the components of a document so that the document can easily be re-built from the specifications.

You can find the presentation and the sample at the Lyon Technologies web site. This might be a great headstart on your documentation efforts. :yesnod:
