I created a Business View LOV which has a filter on the “Data Fundation” level, but this filter didn’t pass through; I also tried filtering on the “Business Element” level, the filter still didn’t pass through to the LOV.
I am using this LOV on a Crystal report as a parameter, i got the parameter, but it shows all the values the filter didn’t work.
Why? My buiness view and Crystal report are both very simple.
Have you assigned rights to the filter for the necessary BO groups/users?
What I mean is, after you’ve created the filter, you need to apply this filter to a particular BO user or group(s). Have you done this?
Off the top of my head, I think you need to right click on the filter you created in the DF and click Edit Rights.
Similar problem to Angie but I was able to make some headway. We’re running XI 3.1 SP2. We have a Business View with a cascading LOV and I wanted the primary LOV filtered based on user security. I created a handful of BOE groups where each represented access to only one value in the primary LOV. I then created one filter for each of the BOE groups just created and assigned the corresponding group using “Edit Rights”.
To test this I modified my BOE user account to be a member of one of the groups just created, tried running a Crystal using the LOV (using the CMC) and…no luck as the LOV displayed all choices. It was late in the day so I waited till the next morning. I tried one more time and the filter worked. I’ve tried a number of combinations of adding/removing groups to my account and sometimes they affect Crystal right away, sometimes they take a while (at least 30 minutes). It’s like the security settings are cached somewhere and bouncing the SIA seems to always resolve this.
