Field Explorer gets un-docked, how to dock it back?

Hi everyone,

I am having an issue with the Field Explorer in CR XI - I had this problem in Crystal Reports 10 as well. After the initial install of CR XI, I started creating a report, and the Field Explorer is docked on the right side of the screen by default. I like to have it on the left, so I grabbed it, and started moving it over to the left, assuming I could get it to re-dock on the left side. But it won’t! The only place I can get it to re-dock to is up at the top, and then that is no good, as it is docked along the top, and spread all the way across the screen.

Has anyone seen this before? I can’t figure out a way to get it to re-dock to either side now…

I think I figured it out…try dragging the window completely off the screen to the left or right.

The following worked for me:

  • Position the field explorer as you want
  • Right-click anywhere on the top portion (header) of the field explorer window
  • Click on “Dock”
