Hi,

We have a similar requirement in our project.
We have achieved this by writing an XML parser in java and deploying the same on the Tomcat server. Basically, this jsp code takes the input in the form of an xml, parses it and writes it to a csv, whcih could then be opened and saved.

Refer to the link below, which we took as the base and implemented it on the same lines. It has all steps mentioned in detail.

Instead of aspx code, we used java code.

Hope this helps.

Fathima.

Hi,

Centigon Solution actually created a very easy to use add-on component to do just this. Its very easy to use and cost effective. We recommend it.

Our solution is easy to configure (it is just a war file) and allows you to export your dashboard to excel using tomcat server.

Stay tuned on myxcelsius.com and check out when the ClearPeaks Export2Excel solution will be published!

Export2Excel is wonderful, I’ve tested it and it’s very easy to use !

However, what’s the rights to use this war for a product which deliver Xcelsius dashboards ?

acaussin (BOB member since 2009-04-24)

Hi acaussin,
of course you can use it for free. Our objective is just having the people know that ClearPeaks delivered it. As you can see when you export your data range, in the exported excel will appear also an about ClearPeaks sheet with our “free” copyrights.

In general you can definitely use it for your production environments without any problem!

Let me know if you need more details!
Cheers,

Hi dhayanithij,
you should change your browser’s settings. If you go to your Internet options you will find the command to allow thee popup for your downloads.

@Dave: apologies for that I was changing my signature and I didn’t think about my old posts! By the way, I have just changed it as it was before!!
