Hi, my users are using webi 6.1 and when they export to excel they get an extra blank column at the end of the data. We’ve tried changing the report page layout margins to 0.0. I’m pretty sure the answer is ‘thats how it works’ but would like to know for sure
fyi…I had similar issues and I open a case with BO support and here is what they said “there are known issues with Save to Excel from 6.5
and will be talking with one of the Product Group guys and discuss”
Try the following link, it contains the answers to correctly formatting reports that will not cause duplicate/blank/extra columns when exporting to excel. This, of course, is not meant as a GLOBAL fix-all, but may help others in most situations.
Most of the recomdation such as specific sizing … no overlapping, avoiding image…keeping in cells of excel while designing report are indeed excel specific and it is valid since BO 4.x.( in nutcell it will work for all the versions including macro with few exceptions)
