Excel Panel is completely empty

I just opened an Xcelsius 2008 document that I created a few weeks ago to update some weekly data. Suddenly the entire Excel panel is light blue and EMPTY. I’ve tried reopening, rebooting, previewing and just stopped short of kicking the machine (I’m wearing sandals)

I’ve gotten used to the crashing, freezing, slowness, incompatibility of Flash versions, poor WYSIWYG functionality and general lack of support and defensiveness from Business Objects tech support, but this is just too much.

This report has about 100 components, which I know is too much for poor Xcelsius 2008, but similar reports worked fine in 4.5.

Any ideas how to get my data back? :hb: :reallymad:

Have you tried to look in your task manager? It’s very likely that there is another Excel process running. If it is so, you may kill it and try to open the file again.
Have you contacted Business Objects about the issue?

What version are you using? I had a similar problem last year when using 2008 (No Service Pack or Fix Pack) and it was because of the List View object. Something with the “Custom Column Widths” option, if I was using set columns and the total Width (in pixel) of all the columns was wider than the object itself (which we really have no way of knowing) then my canvas would be blank when I closed ans re-opened the .xlf.
