Hello
Do any of you out there use BO V6.1.B with ESSBASE 6.5.5? We are facing a problem, problem being, we are able to connect to and see all ESSBASE OLAP databases. However, the moment we try and connect to our TEST OLAP cube and run a report, BO takes forever and eventually times out and displays the “page cannot be found” error. We were able to run a report based on a sample ESSBASE OLAP cube. We suspect that BO is trying to fetch all the data from the cube and eventually times out.
Question: Is there a setting in BO that would allow BO to wait longer for the result set. OR a even better option would be to let a General Supervisor control the level of data initially displayed within a Cube report. Any thoughts / suggestions?
I can’t answer your question, however I am trying to connect Webi 6.1b to our Essbase OLAP cube and when we try we get the following error. WebIntelligence Service unavailable. What needs to be installed to have this run properly.
Also, when I try to create a new report using an Essbase connection, I get a DWZ0010 error, internal component error.
We were successfully able to connect to our Essbase cubes within the full client, however when you go to Webi and try and create a report you get the following error:
The required WebIntelligence service is not available.
We have the same problem. Our ESSBASE cube is huge (around 8 GB) and we are able to connect using FUll Client and see the data. However, within WebI, we cannot look at the data. We have raised a case with BO. The case # is 302487913
Our ESSBASE Admin traced the logs and found numerous calls from BO and which were different than what was being done using Full Client. Please keep us updated on this issue since we both have a common issue.
However it is a little conviluted. The server must have the WIOGenerator service running, you can see it in the Admin Console, WIOlap Generator.
You also must have the Essbase Client software installed on the Webi Servers. Once we had all the parts, we were able to use the OLAP report generator within Webi.
The issue is that some of our servers, dev and uat, didn’t have the correct services installed, don’t know why as the installs were all done the same. They seem to be missing the WIOlap Module. We have a case opened within BO to see why this module wouldn’t have been installed.
We do have the WIOLAP Generator is running on our server and still we cannot connect to our ESSBASE cube using WebI. Did you connect to the sample ESSBASE cube in WebI? Have you tried connecting to a “large” cube specific to your enterprise / company? I am almost positive, you will not be able to connect using WebI. Keep me posted.
