Error when using Excel 2007 file

Hi,

I have an Excel 2007 file with the file extension as “.xlsx” and when I tried to use this file as an external data provider along with my other data providers which are coming from the universe. I am getting the message

“Invalid setting in Excel key of the Engines section of the Windows Registry (3433)”.

I then tried to save the file as “.xls” and then tried to use it and I got a different message this time "

“External table is not in the expected format (3274)”

Any idea if BO XI 3.1SP1 and 3.1SP2 support this file extension. Since I have BO XI 3.1 just curious to know if this is supported.

I tried to the Excel 2007 file as an external data provider in Web Intelligence Rich Client and I got the message “The selected file
extension is not correct”. Looks like the rich client also does
not support “.xlsx” file extensions.

Any thoughts?
