Error : SMTP_E_TCPSOCKET_OPEN(2)

Hi,

I am using BO XI R2. I had scheduled a report to run and send to a list of user but instance has failed.

It is giving the error : SMTP_E_TCPSOCKET_OPEN(2).

Can anyone please help me to resolve this issue.

Think this just means it can’t find the mail server on the network.
Check connectivity to the mail server and that you can send mail through it.
I’d use telnet to test that out.

my issue was anti-virus running port blocking. I turned it off, tried again and va’la!

added JobServerChild.exe to execptions list in anti-virus and all good now.
