Error processing IDoc request

Hi,

We are facing an issue reading Idoc from SAP ECC on SAP BODS 4.2 SP3.
When an Idoc is trigerred from SAP but it throws following error when looked at status of RFC client in DS manegement console:-

‘Error processing IDoc request. Check al_engine error log for detail error message.’

At DS management console, real time RFC client is set up and started successfully.

However looking more, we see following error.

SP(Read_IDOC, SERVER:3500)::flowThread() Flow became invalid during waiting for request (BODI-300137) (14.2) 02-15-17 05:16:34 (E) (2256:5324) Unknown: R3RfcClient(SAPDS337) ActaIDocFunc::Process() encountered processing error for Requeste(27) (Communication Error. See real time job log for details.) (IDOC 0000000003200801+/D13CLNT100). (BODI-300129) .

We checked at SAP side configuration and it all seems fine because same IDoc is successfully processed to SAP PI.
But somehow it is not able to reach BODS.

Further at SAP ECC side, we see the transactional RFC message error as 'check TID fault. No transaction handler is installed.

It may not be directly related but you are using a very outdated version of SAP Data Services 4.2. SP03 was released in September 2014 - the current version is SP08 which was released in November 2016.

As per the DS PAM, SAP only keeps the current SP and 2 previous releases under mainstream support. (So that is SP08 and SP07+SP06).

My first port of call would be to upgrade your DS 4.2 installation and see if the problem still occurs. Even if it still does happen, at least you will be in a position to raise a support call with SAP.

Thanks Erik for suggestion.

Not sure if the client can go for upgrade.
However, this is basic functionality and it should work.
Do we have any workaround?

It might be a minor configuration problem. I would run through the the complete set up and check everything carefully for spelling, case, etc. A transposed digit can be a bear to see, so sometimes copying and pasting them above each other in notepad or the like is needed.
