I have a Crystal XI report that is running against a universe query. It is one of several that run against this universe. The other reports run and return data as expected in both the designer and Enterprise XI R2 SP5 on Solaris. This report runs and returns data in the designer. In enterprise, however, it fails with the error “Error in file [file name]: Failed to retrieve data from the database”
I’ve used Crystal since version 7.5, but have done almost nothing with Crystal against universes. I’m not sure where to go with this. In searching on the error, most versions of it also come back with a database error code. Mine doesn’t. I’ve seen a couple of references to the possibility that this could be a problem with a timeout on a load balancer. We do use a load balancer. We were having timeout issues in the past, but solved them. I am the BO XI application administrator, but not a unix admin or network admin. I’m not sure how to determine if my copy of the error has something to do with the load balancer or not.
If anyone has any tips, thoughts, suggestions on what may be causing this or can offer any help, it would be greatly appreciated.
