Error importing from BIAR file(BO XI R 3.1)

Hello Gurus,

We are using Import wizard to deploy updated universe and reports from Dev to testing and production environment.

I imported universe and reports to BIAR file in Development. But when I am trying to deploy the universe and reports to testing environment where the source will be BIAR file and destination is testing environment. IW is throwing an error :

" Failed to open the BIAR file. Reason: com.businessobjects.sdk.biar.om.internal.iw.ObjectManagerIWException:required dependencies not found target system : ‘AQxIJpjkbaRBrhcMvtnHAT4’ "

I saved the BIAR in zip and opened the file. I could see the XML file.

Please let me how to resolve this issue.

I am choosing the following options.

Source : Dev CMS name, I am logging in LDAP Authentication
Destination : BIAR file
Select Objects to import : I am choosing folders and objects, Universe and repository objects
Folders and Objects : I selected the report which I had modified in Dev
Import options for Universe and connections: I chose “Import universe and connections that the selected DESKi report uses directly” and also I chose “Keep universe overloads for imported users and groups”
Universe folders and Universes : i chose the universe that I updated in Dev.
Import options for Publications : I chose “Import recipients used by selected publication”(Even if i select the other option “do no import recipients” I get the same error as i have given in previous message)

While importing from BIAR file to testing environment :

I selected BIAR fileas source and Testing environment as destination. When I click next I get the above mentioned error.

Thanks,
Rashmi :? :?

There could be several reasons for these issues. Try using a enterprise account and let us know if you have the same result.

-Sreedhar,

I do not have Entrprise account. But the LDAP account that I am using has all the administrative rights.

I am thinking it should not be the issue with LDAP authentication, because if it was the issues with LDAP authentication, IW would have thrown an error at the beginning itself before I exported the contents from Dev to BIAR. It would have not created the BIAR file.

Thanks.

Trust me, I too had the same issue, used an LDAP account ( belongs to an administrator group) which didn’t work, but created the Enterprise account of the same which worked and have no real root cause what could be failing with an LDAP.

For further troubleshooting, what account was used in creation of the BIAR file. Is the account different from the one being used for import. Did you import the root folder rights within the BIAR.

Yes, the account used to import from the BIAR is different from the one used to export to the BIAR. Will this be an issue? bcoz I do not have user account in Testing environment. Only testing people can access IW in testing environment.

And I did not import the root folder rights within the BIAR.

I have chosen folders and objects, universe and repository objects to import.

Hi Guys,

Wondering if you have found a resolution to this issue as yet. I am experiencing the same issue using enterprise authentication.

I have now attempted to re-import the BIAR file to the original DEV environment where it was created but with no joy. The only difference is the user I am using. The BIAR file was created under an administrator account and the import is being performed by a user under another group but with rights assigned to access everything.

Any and all help much appreciated.

Tom

Hi

I was trying to import the report from BIAR (XIR2) to XI 3.1 version and while loading the BIAR file, i get the error ’ …Required dependencies were not found in target system’

What was causing the problem and how to overcome this.? Attachment contain the error message.

I saw this same issue, though was able to push the BIAR to PROD using an Enterprise account rather than using Windows AD authentication, even though the BIAR was created using an AD account. Must be permissions on the Production side were causing the error, though you wouldnt guess that from the error text.
