I’m new to web intel, and I’m having a tough time figuring out how to enable/show the excel button on the reports. Users can go and use the “save as” option,but it is also requested to enable the excel button for them. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I guess the more i look, its seems that the “excel” button would have been on an older version maybe? However, the screenshot i attached is what i am trying to get for one of my users.
If you are the BO Admin, the ability to set “Save as Excel / Save as PDF” rights for the group is somewhere in CMC. Once you play around with that and figure that out, the export to Excel drop-down menu option (rather than “button!”) should no longer be grayed out.

There are a couple of rights in the Content collection with Type Web Intelligence: Save as Excel or Text, and Save as CSV. For your user, check in the CMC if those are granted.
In the CMC, go to User List. Select your user who doesn’t see the Save as Excel, and right-click, select Member Of. Do the same for someone who does see it, and see if there are any differences.
Well, I got lucky and stumbled across a way to get it to work. That user was already a member of the group she needed to be. but when she goes back into those queries she created and clicks “view” then she has the option to export like we needed. Im not sure why she doesn’t exactly have the option after she creates/run the query. Anyone else notice that?
