Email Configuration and Outlook Integration in BO

We need to schedule reports in BO XI server with destination as MS Mail in Test Server. Is there a way to run the report successfully but preventing the mails being sent. (We should be able to configure email settings for reports)

Also, is it possible to integrate outlook in BO? We should be able to pick email id’s from outlook address book while scheduling crystal reports in CMC or InfoView. The same feature is available in Seagate Info 7.5 - InfoDesktop. We need to replicate this in BO.

Easiest way would be to DISABLE the relay on the SMTP server for your BOXI server. The jobs will be processed and sent to the SMTP server, but then won’t go anywhere.

Outlook Integration is now provided by a 3rd Party tool from APOS called ADDRESS BOOK GATEWAY.

Thanks for the quick reply. Could you please share the steps for disabling the relay on SMTP server? We are using a shared SMTP server. So need to check whether it is possible to do it without affecting other applications.

APOS - ADDRESS BOOK GATEWAY seems to be a very useful tool to display outlook email addresses, from the report scheduling page. We have requested for an evaluation copy to try this option.

It depends on the type of SMTP server you are using…but you should be able to ask your E-Mail ADMIN to “block” message relay requests from the Server Name(s) or IP(s) of your BOE servers.

Any updates on your trial with APOS? How did it go? How much does it cost? I’ll be curious if you have developed custom modules instead of APOS.

Hi

Tried searching on ways to configure BO, so that I can send reports from InfoView to MS Outlook. Can’t find anything.
Tried configuring in the Servers of CMC and send the report, but I did not receive anything and do not even know what is the progress on that. How do we track this? When I send it, I did not receive any error but did not even receive the email.
If anybody has any clue on how to configure or can send me the steps to do so, i would appreciate it. We are running BO Xi R2.

Do you have SMTP relay permissions set-up on your Outlook Server…?
