We have a custom application that calls both Crystal and Webi. I am on BUSINESS OBECTS XI 3.1.
We have been getting timeout and other related errors randomly.
To prevent this error and to keep session timeouts in sync for both Crystal and Webi, I added the -RequestTimeout 7200000 in commandline for ALL servers(including Crystal,webi and job servers) to increased their Corba timeout.
Does this commandline work for ALL servers ie does it increase Corba timeout for all servers. Does it need -restart after it?
I also increased the idle connection timeout to 60 minutes wherever this entry was available to 60 minutes.
The idea is to keep all timeouts in sync for both Crystal and Webi servers and to make it 60 minutes.
I believe Corba timeouts control enterprise session timeout and I increased that to 2 hours and webi and Crystal timeouts to 60 minutes (idle connection timeouts).
Please let me know if this is a good approach and if -RequestTimeout 7200000 is GENERIC and works for ALL server types.
