Do you need a new BOMain key if the IP address changes?

Using v6.5, if the repository is moved to another server where the host name and database name are the same as the current server but the IP address is different, do I need to generate a new BOMain key file?

Hi,

I think it depends on the database that you use. If it’s Oracle then you need to re-configure the tnsnames.ora file. Then I think the original .key should work. If it’s another database where an IP address was used when defining the original .key file then you would need to re-create the file.

Thanks, its an Oracle 10.1 database

Then change appropriate entry in the tnsnames.ora file and check whether it works without changing the .key file.
