Hi,
I have installed BI server, Web App and Explorer on three separate servers and all appeared to be successful. I’m able to access the CMC but its showing that the Explorer services are in ‘Starting’ mode. From the LaunchPad, Explorer is requiring me to login again with this error message:
Failed to logon.
Explorer was not able to intialize the service locator. (PS10007)
What’s causing this?

If it’s just starting and not running, then it’s not ready to receive any requests. So why does it remain in starting? The fact that you can see the Explorer servers in the CMC means they know where the CMS is, and that’s good. So they must have another blocking issue.
First try a good old reboot of that Explorer server and if that doesnt help, try the Windows Event Viewer on that server and see if any messages appear for the explorer services.
