dimension and detail object in SAP BW universe

Hi,

For each characteristic in SAP BW query there is a dimension followed by multiple attributes as detail in the universe. After installing SP2 on BOXIR3.1, I am not able to drag drop the detail under the class it is possible to keep only under a dimensions.

Since I want only few details, I created a separate universe class and tried to place in that, but no success. It can be placed only under a dimension. This will confuse the users.

Any one have faced this issue or I am missing something.

Details are required to be attached to a dimension at all times. Without an associated dimension they are “out of context” and could potentially be confused or used wrong.

Thanks for your reply.

In that case in SAP BW object what characteristic data is associated with the dimension as there also many detail for each dimension.

It was possible just to drag detail object of characteristic (dimension) before SP2 and they repesented as dimension in infoview.
