The differences between the two versions are minimal. The icons remain the same.
One of the nicest upgrades from XI Release 1 (version 11.0) and XI Release 2 (version 11.5) is when you create summaries. In 11.0 and earlier versions if you wanted a Grand Total and also multiple Subtotals, you had to open the summary screen for each one. With the 11.5 version, there is a checkbox on the “Summary location” portion of the screen which is labeled “Add to all group levels”. By selecting this checkbox, you only have to open the screen once to get both grand totals and subtotals.
I don’t have both versions available right now, so I am going on memory.
I believe there are also some minor changes on the parameter definition screen, but they are very intuitive.
The company always puts out a “What’s New in …” document. Look for a copy for the XI Release 2 version. That will be your all-inclusive list.
When you eventually upgrade to the Crystal Reports 2008 (version 12.0) version, there are a number of icon changes and additional functionality.
