Diff Between Table comparison and Map Operation Transfrom

If we are loading data into target having no rows using map Operation tranfrom with Normal as Update then it will not laod any thing into the target
it means it is looking into the target to make the updates .
So here again it is comparing two tables… right?

I would not call that “comparing” tables as the target will remain empty forever.
