DI oracle install on RHEL

I just tried to install Data Integrator 11.7.3 on Linux Redhat 5 (64-bit).
(Actually we are using Linux Centos)

When configuring the Job Server we are unable to initialize the Oracle Shared Library (libclntsh.so).

Error as follows: CON-120421: Initialization Oracle shared library <libclntsh.so> not found. Please make sure it is installed and can be located using the library search path (LIBPATH on AIX, LD_LIBRARY_PATH on Solaris/Linux, SHLIB_PATH on HP-UX). Please check the file permissions for <libclntsh.so>.

From the documentation portion of the SAP website I can locate only a “Data Integrator Gettting Started Guide for Windows and Unix” for 11.7.2 version of Data Integrator.

Within Chapter 4 of this document, Deployment on Unix, it clearly states that to install 11.7.2 you must use Redhat 4.

Where is the documentation for “Data Integrator Gettting Started Guide for Windows and Unix” for 11.7.3 version of Data Integrator? :wah:

Is installing Data Integrator 11.7.3 on Linux Redhat 5 supported :?: :?: :?:

We are getting this error and my UNIX administrator believes that it is due to an unsupported platform. Please see this link on BOB.

I am pretty sure the first libclntsh.so file the library loader is finding is a 64bit library of Oracle. And that cannot be called from a 32bit application.

Please clarify. Are you stating that DI 11.7.3 is not supported on LINUX REDHAT 5, 64 bit?? Is the problem the 64-bit or the REDHAT version??

Make sure you have installed the 32-bit Oracle client on your Linux box, not the 64-bit client. A 32-bit DI requires 32-bit database drivers.

I am going to split this topic into its own thread since it’s really separate from the generic sticky post above.
