Details about usage of .prm files in BO

Hi…
I wanted to know about the usage of .prm files in BusinessObjects.
Are they related to the default functions that are present in BO Designer or BO reporter…and if so, how.

The “prm” files are used so that the core program functionality is contained in the executable or dll files, while the instructions used to communication with each supported database are stored in external text files.

That way if a new database appeared on the market tomorrow, the code for Designer or Reporter would not change… they would just provide a new prm file for the new database.
