[Deski (XI)] Could not Create Temporary File. FRM0006

Hi all,

new to this forum and in desperate need of some help;

I have several users who have recently moved to a new desktop computer and since then have been unable to save reports on a network server.
Some general info:
Clients are Win7 Pro x64
BO DI version 11.5

The problem reported when saving files is:
“Could not Create Temporary File. Your startup disk is probably full. (FRM0006)”
I found several other, many years old similar postings on this board, but none of the solutions work ( not that many useful andwers are posted)

When the users opens and tries to save documents on the local disk, all is well. But when doing so to a server folder they get the above error. But, the file is saved, once with the selected filename and only 2Kb in size and once with the file name plus a ~ at the end. And that report is the one with the correct size.
As far as the temp folder goes, there’s +200Gb available on the users locak disk. I made sure the users have all the rights they need both on the machine’s temp folders and the network drive folder, that’s not the issue either. I tried changing ( envoronment variables) and emptying all temp folders, didn’t help. I disabled UAC, no luck. I logged on with another user, no luck. Made the users local admins, no luck.

So why is it reporting problems with the temp folder, while the problem lies with the network save-destination folder? Howcome there’s no problem with the temp folder when opening ans saving on the user’s locak disk? Why does it nonetheless save 2 files, a 2kb corrupt one and another correct one with ~ ath the end? :crazy_face:

These same reports can be run and saved on other computers ( with identical images afaik)

Any useful help will be greatly appreciated.
