Deski Job Server crashing daily

Hello,

Just curious if anyone has also had this problem. I try to schedule Deski reports in XI and they sit in ‘Pending’… I look at the prodbusobj01.qa_deskijobserver Desktop Intelligence Job Server and it says it is running, however, when I go into the Metrics Tab it is blank.

Any ideas?

I wish I could post with a solution, but I’m in the same boat as you. Our short term band-aid is to bounce them nightly since we plan to move to 3.x soon and that may clear it up.

When jobs are pending, it may be caused because it’s waiting for the server or one of the servers is disabled.

You can try :

  • Enable all servers in the same
  • Restart servers involved in your tasks ( for you: DesktopIntelligenceJobServer and ProgramJobServer)

Just spotted this old post. I came across similar symptoms due to an issue introduced by a Windows Hot Fix (KB956572). The resolution was to add the IP address of the server to the “Host Identifiers” section of the servers - in this case, it would be the DesktopIntelligence Job and Processing servers.
