Hi All
I created a universe on Excel based in ‘Offline’ mode ( ie: authentication is 'Standalone(no CMS)).I saved the universe in default ‘Universe’ folder and selected ‘Save for all Users’.
Note: Able to access the excel data in universe.
Then I opened the Deski in ‘Offile’ mode and choosen the above created universe.But the BO throws the below error message. Error:‘You are not authorised to use this type of universe in this application’
Can you please throw some light to fix the error.
Software information:
Version : BO XI R3
Type : Client software

Ideally I am trying to create a universe and report with Excel.
(Note:I know using ‘Personal data files’ we can create report but I am trying in above way)
The steps I did was:
–Created excel and placed in ‘Userdocs’ folder.
–Created ODBC connection in control panel ( system SDN–> Microsoft Excel Driver (.xls) – > Browsed excel file )
–Opened the Deski in offline mode.Created universe by creating new connection with above ODBC connection.(tried to create connection as Personal and shared also ) Able to test, parse and view LOV’s.
–Saved in default ‘Universe’ folder. ( Selected ‘Save for all users’ )
–Opend the Deski in offline mode, able to see the above universe.Selected the universe.
As soon as I select the universe system throws ‘You are not authorised to use the universe’
Am I missing anything ? 
Let me ask silly doubt, do we need to do anything with TNS file.
Very strangely, in Deski if I goto Tools–> Universes and I selected the above universe and tried to view the LOV’s then I am able to get the LOV’s.
