Can any one suggest how a newcomer would start designing universes over Oracle financials? What would be a good starting point? Is anyone aware of any good CBT courses?
Any other pointers would be appreciated.

We found Business Objects’ Rapid Deployment Templats for AP, PO & GL to be a good start, but only a start. You really need to understand your chart of accounts, and, if you’re not from the group that does support for the Financials, it really helps to have someone from that team advise you of how you’ve implemented attributes, flex fields, etc. at your site. Once we had that under our belt, we were pretty much set (until we upgrade to version 11 of Financials, of course…!)
