Designer no longer showing logs upon job execution?

This is with SAP Data Services 4.2 SP06 Patch 2.

When using the Designer - and executing jobs from the designer during the development process, it no longer brings up the usual logging screen that shows you the Trace, Monitor and Error logs. :crazy_face:

So you the job, right click, “execute” - it brings up the job execution window just fine and you select to run the job… and nothing appears to happen.

But when you then check the Data Services Management Console, you clearly see the job running and you see all the log data there.

I’ve never seen this behaviour before. I had a look at both the job-server server and the machine from which I’m running the Designer and neither have any shortage of disk space on any drive (that’s all I could think of). It was working perfectly fine earlier in the day.

I’m absolutely stunned - the jobs execute just fine themselves but the Designer pretends nothing is happening at all. :mrgreen:

Has anyone ever seen this before?

Yes, have seen this. If you run Designer as Administrator and have full rights accessing Programdata, then this is a bug, which was solved in Sp08 FP 4 or 5, do not remember exactly which one. I updated our system with SP10 and it is ok now.
I do not have KBA number, I create the incident with SAP, but they did solve this with Sp06 or Sp07, just advised to update with the latest possible version.

Thanks Mike, this environment is scheduled to go to SP10 in the near future so that should take care of it. Just good to know that I’m not seeing things here.
