designer crashing when opening it

We’re seeing the same error, in both Designer and in Desktop Intelligence. These tools work Ok on the server, but from no other PC. We tried PCs in the same domain, and in different domains as well. We consistently get this error in the Desktop Intelligence login process on the client PC: SessionFacade::openSessionLogon with user info has failed(Transport error: Communication failure.
