What am I missing here?

  1. Created new Design Studio application
  2. Created new data source (from IDT universe connection). Simple query looks fine.
  3. Created new chart
  4. Dragged data source over chart and it looks OK. Edited the initial view and I can see bars in my chart…

BUT it’s “greyed out” and when I try to execute locally, I just get a blank screen.

I’ve missed some step - but I have no idea what it is.

ETA: If I edit the initial view of the chart and click OK + Create Crosstab, I can see the crosstab data, so the query is getting the data, but the chart is not displaying. But if I create just a crosstab component, that won’t display either.

SORTED!

The BASIC LAYOUT template creates a header and a footer for your “page”. But it also creates an object called DIALOG_CONTAINER. No idea what it does, but once I’d removed it completely from the canvas, my chart became visible.
