Hi all,
It’s me again. I’m trying to learn more about cross tab reports.
I was trying to use a date object in the body of the cross tab report.
So i’m just wondering If i have a date object where I calculate
current date + 2 months, can i change this date object as a measure?
If i do it will I come across any issues? Help required from great minds.
Your date object doesn’t have to be a measure to be in the body of a crosstab. I just tested this by placing a date onbect into the body of a crosstab, with Fiscal Year on the top, and Customer Name down the left side. Have you tried this?
ok, I will think about a scenario here.
Lez say you want to see employee have worked in different location
of the same company. So if you want a cross tab report where employee’s name is on the left and different locations say… france, germany and usa are on top and their date when they started working as a body. ( I am using top and left because BO kinda confuses with rows and columns specially with cross tabs)
and if a particular employee have worked in two different locations,
the start date is printed in two different rows
usa france
john 01/12/2003
john 11/12/2004
This can be avoided if I have mentioned the date as a measure object, I get the result like
usa france
john 01/12/2003 11/12/2004
So I am wondering is it a problem to mention an object containing date as a measure.>? and also i guess it’s a designer issue, not sure why it’s been moved to reporter.
