Date Modified - timestamp is same across the board

Hello Everyone,
We are on 4.1 SP4 Window 2008, BO Repo on SQL Server.

I am system admin for SAP BI. One thing we noticed today. in CMC when I look the public folders reports both webi and crystal reports. In the data modified column most of the reports has the date modified as same timestamp across all the the reports.

Its very bizarre that all the reports not modifed at the same time. and I pretty sure there is not interface is accessing and writing to BO Repo.

one more observation.
reports has instances in the history has multiple instances with instance time as same reports modified timestamp. But when I look at the instance details creation date, start date and end date a few years back.

any help would be great folks.

I am just puzzled.

I don’t suppose you ran a reposcan recently?

Reposcan? I dont think we did that.
any chance you would know how you would do it?

Well, I’m not suggesting that a reposcan would fix the problem, but rather if you had run it, it might have caused that result.

A reposcan will modify objects with invalid data (such as a missing owner), and will update the objects’ last update date.

But if you hadn’t run it, than that’s obviously not the cause…

If these reports were migrated from an earlier version, the last modified date for everything that was migrated will be the date they were migrated unless they’ve been updated since then. It will not be the date they were modified in the old system.

thank you everyone for replies.

I found that its not just the reports even universes has the modified date same as the date other reports and instances has.

in the history of the instances I found one pattern.

report instances we store 100 on the reports. So the pattern I found was, within those instances it updated the instance time to same date but when I click the details on the instance it has created date as 2011, start and end time as 2011. it updated only some of the instances on the reports.

I also confirmed that we didn’t drop any users from CMS database. our users are tagged to WinAD users. checked with our security team.
and also most of the reports and Universe owner is Administrator and that user exists.
but Iam still trying to find the pattern why some reports not others. again with in some reports only few instances changed to new instance time.

Still puzzled here.

Do you have BO installed in a cluster with multiple servers? If so, are the system times the same on all servers? What about the system times between the servers and the CMS database?

thank you for reply.

yes they are clustered VM ware. All have Same time stamp.

any idea if SI_UPDATE_TS is this field in CMS or Audit database.

Only some impacted not others that is the part it is confusing me. :hb:
All the .UNV has the last modified timestamp now too.

Opened a ticket with SAP now.

Last Modified Time comes from si_update_ts; it has nothing to do with Audit.

thank you for your reply. Only thing I see on the server event logs. a minute before the timestamp BO server lost connections to CMS and Audit database.

it restored it in a minute though.

I also checked the time across the servers both BO And CMS they all have same time stamps.
