I installed BO 4 on my desktop…When i open Information Design Tool to create a New Connection…In the Database Middleware Driver Selection Window I cannot see list of Database drivers under the Hierarchical List…Can you please let me know what is wrong…I have installed Oracle Client on my machine.
You didn’t answer the first question. On SP02 there was a bug whereby the connection dialogue could hang when it should have been displaying the different drivers. Maybe this is what is happening for you?
I still have this problem, I am not able to see the ODBC middleware drivers in the Information design tool when creating a new connection. The Version of BO that i am using is
SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 Client Tools SP5
SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.0 Client Tools SP5 update.
The issue is i can see teradata, oracle and sql server drivers in win32 odbc administrator…but there are no drivers installed in win64 odbc drivers…My issue is IDT shows blank in the Database Drivers middleware selection when trying to create a new connection
Again, you MUST use the ODBC Manager for 32bit and create your System DSN there! The 32bit ODBC Manager can be found in the SysWOW64 folder (I know the name is counter intuitive)!
If you start ODBC Manager from Control Panel or Administrator Tools…well that is the 64bit version, which is USELess to the 32bit tool IDT!
I have installed Oracle,SQL Server and Teradata drivers and this can be seen in the 32 bit odbc manager which is in the folder Syswow64.
Why is Information design tool not able to detect and display these 32 bit drivers. It is showing blank in “Database Drivers Middleware Selection” when trying to create a new connection
