The Designer (which is on its way out) is coming from the old days of Windows 9x and Windows XP where every user had full local admin access to their own PCs - I have experienced quite some issues with the Designer, in particular the OCX’s that drive the window-docking features of the Designer UI, when no local admin access has been provided or when the local drive on the workstation has been completely sealed off.
Hello guys, I join the discussion cos I suffered the same error…
I install DS 4.2 SP3 in my laptopn under Windows 7 and when i start it once, it works perfect
but if I close it and try to start it later…it doesnt work, it says the Dll stopped working.
As before someone said…it’s due to the old days of Windows 9X and Windows XP
TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE==>Go to the installation folder, find the Designer.exe and right click==>Properties==>Compatibility tab==>Run in compatibility Mode (Windows XP SP3)
Now when you try to start Designer, will run under “Windows XP” and will run good!
