Data Service 4.0 strange behavior

Hi all!

I tried to work with two variables of Data Service installations:

  1. Data Services 4.0 (Windows+Oracle)
    Component versions are:
    INFOPLATSVCS04P_1
    DATASERV03_0
There are no problems between 2 systems via LCM (the same system versions).
But, in CMC in list I see: dummy.action.DS.Repository_List.display.name
    CMC’s language is English.

  2. Data Services 4.0 (Windows+Oracle)
    Component versions are:
    INFOPLATSVCS02P_19
    DATASERV02P_5

There I have a problems in transport between systems via LCM (the same system versions). I promote Job (test is Ok) with objects (users) to another LCM, and there new users don’t appear!
And I have a trouble with adding new valid reporitory in CMC: Test connection – ok, but button ‘Save’ have can press and it is now add the repository in the list.

Please, Gurus, tell me, what version of Data Service components I have to install that this problem don’t appears.

(Sorry for my bad English)!!!

Errors are from a mismatch between IPS and BODS.

I think install 2) is in order, install 1) is too old/incorrect. Reinstall everything on that server. Sorry, no other easy way.

About LCM: don’t use it. Well maybe for moving BO users to the next environment, but don’t do it for BODS code.

Hi, Johannes!

thanks for reply!

What method using for objects transportation if no LCM?
I think 3-system landscape the same Netweaver-Abap transport like. But You say that no.

What versions IPS & DS applicable for correct combined work?
FPack3 for DS have a troubles, isn’t it?

Apply the latest patches for IPS/DS and it will fix this error: dummy.action.DS.Repository_List.display.name.

I had the same problem.

Hi, Jim!

I understanding that soft must be updated by latest patch.
But what patch-path applicable better for DS now?
Latest (by time) SP2 patches
Or Latest (by version number), for example, SP4/FP3?

Thanks a lot!

You want to use the patch for the version you are on. If you are on 4.0 then use the 4.0 patch. I’m at a client site right now so I don’t have access to the SAP site to look up the patch.
