I’ve tried looking for an answer and cannot seem to find a solution that has worked.
Here is the issue:
I downloaded SP4 for Xcelsius Present 2008 to a networked location. I uninstalled SP3.6 and Installed SP4 on my machine without any issues at all.
We have two new employees that have started recently and I went to the same file location to install on their machines. Installations went through fine, Key Code was accepted and is in good standing on all installs. The issue is, when we bring up Xcelsius and try to add a Data Connection, we can add one but the Properties panel does not populate. It stays blank no matter what type of connection we are trying to add. Back on my machine, this works without an issue, but both of the new computers are failing.
I’ve updated the Flash Player on both computers and even updated the JRE (although I don’t think that it has anything to do with this.) Nothing has seemed to work and I’m at a loss right now.
Im about to go through some 4.0 installs as well, but not for a couple weeks. I remember this same problem happening to people with sp2.0
Whats the .0 stand for? “o-shi…”
anyway, SAP never really jokes around when they publish minimum requirements…so you are good with all these?
just curious about your issues. I remember the 2.0 issues were mostly solved with people reverting down a level or 2 with the “latest version of flash” I think 10.2 is the currrent favorite (but not the most recent)
And by the way…that little screen you are looking for in the Data manager is a mini SWF file itself (or least was in sp3)
Bonus tip: When d/l from SAP online (i live near Chicago, IL) to my home network, i use a data manager, which reports corrupt packets. When im looking for a large update, like sp4, or fp6, I have to always try the download 2-3 times. Anyway, from my experience using this stuff for the last 4-5 years, I never ever install SAP stuff from a networked locatation…after I d/l it. Just dont have good luck with doing things that way.
Requirements we’re good on. One has XP SP3 and the other one has Windows 7. They both have Excel SP3 and I updated both of their Flash Players to the latest 10.3.xx.xx.
Here is what I don’t understand. SP4 works fine on my computer, as a matter of fact, I haven’t had a single issue. This is why I made the decision to install SP4 on their machines.
It looks to me that every single aspect of Xcelsius works other than the flash page for the Connection Details. Also, the computers pulled up some SWF outputs for some of our production dashboards and were able to view them without issue.
