Data Integrator and iSCSI Storage

Hi,

Does anyone faced some kind of problems with an ETL server (with DI/DS, of course) and the disks in an external storage with iSCSI technology?

The thing here is the internal disk of our new server outperform the disk in the storage even if the storage is supposed to be far better in performance. And the old HW doesn’t that problem with a SAS attached storage.

Regards,

Andrés

PS: The equipment we are testing is a DELL Server with MD3200 or Equalogic Storage devices.

A common performance issue with Windows job servers is anti-virus software. You might want to check out your configuration to make sure this isn’t slowing down the external storage sub-system.

Thanks for your comment. I’ll check that.

However I doubt that the anivirus is limiting the Storage and not the internal RAID. Both are mapped as single logical units (without partitioning)

Andrés
