Dashboard - New Analytic - Bubble/Pie Chart Options - reg

Hi:

I am trying to install the templates for the Pie/Bubble Chart options as part XI R3 Dashboard, but getting following error. Currently the Pie and Bubble charts are not showing while creating new analytics.

I have copied the XCTemplateUploaderBatch.jar to tomcat webapps directory and extracted and tried to open the page, still failed.

Please let me know if we have any other options to get the templates installed.

Hi All:

I followed the instructions from XI3 Dashboard Analytics Setup Admin Manual and able to install the templates.

Instructions given as part of the manual as follows:

Installing the XCTemplateUploader.war
File
Deploy the XCTemplateUploader.war file to the Java applications folder.
Do one of the following:
If you are using Tomcat, copy and paste the XCTemplateUploader.war
file in the webapps folder.
Tomcat recognizes and deploys the file.
If you are using another application, refer to the application
documentation for information on deploying a war file.
When the war file has been deployed, the “Xcelsius Template Publisher”
is available at: http://[machine name]:[port#]/XCTemplateUploader/

Once you launch the Template Uploader, enter the CMS Name, User ID and Password.

It will redirect you to browse and choose the files.

Choose the C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Performance Management 12.0\setup directory and files (templates.zip, data_exploration_templates.zip) and upload it. (One file at a time).

Once you upload, check whether you are able to see those chart options by creating new analytic from dashboard builder.

Hi All.

For version XI 3.1 the templates folder has changed from:

C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Performance Management 12.0\setup

to

C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Dashboard and Analytics 12.0\setup

incase anyone is looking for the files with version 3.1.

I have migrated from BOXIR2 to 3.1 on my dev and most of the migration was pretty much sraight forward. While in r2 installation there was an option of Installing Performance manager while in 3.1 there is no such option. ANy reason why?

And there is a foder created with Performance Manager 12.0 in my 3.1 deployment, but the folder is totally empty?Do i have to re deploy?

if yes, can you anyone let me know how?

Can I just ask a question as a dumb end user who normally avoids such administrative tasks like the plague…

Why is all of this necessary? Is there any good reason why this can’t just be included as part of the standard installation process?

The instructions in the manual leave out critical information.

1.) How do I determine if my installation is using Tomcat or not?
2.) Where EXACTLY is the webapps folder? I’ve copied the XCTemplateUploader.war file to every folder on my server named webapps with no luck.
3.) If my installation is not using Tomcat, where do I find this other application documentation they reference. I assume I download it from SAP’s website, but what is it called?

F.Y.I. We have installed Business Objects XI Edge R3 on a brand new Windows Server 2008 R2 machine using all default installation settings.
