Ok perhaps I’m just blind, but is there some ‘special’ way to copy a dashboard that was created via Dashboard Builder?
We have a requirement that our end users will need to have some ‘custom’ versions of an existing Corporate dashboard… The most obvious way to acomplish this is to take the corporate dashboard, copy it, place it in a client specific folder and then modify it with the client’s new requirements.
However it appears that once you create a Dashboard object, you can only MOVE it from one folder to another, and cannot duplicate it for modification, nor for versioning backups.
Is there any way to use a Dashboard as a template so I don’t have to recreate the wheel each time? Our main dashboard currently have about a dozen controls over 3 tabs and I only see it growing in the future.
There is a Copy option at the top of the left pane in Dashboard Builder. You can copy a whole dashboard or a single tab/menu. You can then move the copy to any other corporate tier dashboard in your list, rename it, and off you go.
