Dashboard - automate Input and Output values?

after the WSDL is pasted into the Dashboard - Data Manager section, the Input and Output values show, but need to be manually populated, typically from a spreadsheet.

But if the WSDL is refreshed, each Input and Output value has to be entered all over again. This is very time consuming and can lead to human errors. I have 25 Data connections, each with 25 filters meaning 625 manual inputs!

System is BO Webi 4.1 and Xcelsius Dashboard.

Please advise how to automatically feed these Input and Output values.

also, https://ideas.sap.com/D6361 . A few years ago, this user asked the same question to SAP:

“The request is to maintain the binding configured to excel sheet on Input/output values of web service after modifying the Web service query.
Currently, after you modify a Query, in Xcelsius, when you import the WSDL, you have to redo the bindings from scratch.”

fyi, this is a typical Input Values section of each Data Connection, found in Data Manager. Imagine having 25 connections with 25 filters. A person could waste an entire day or two doing manual inputs.

Why are you refreshing the WSDL? Do you mean importing a new WSDL? Once entered, you shouldn’t have to change the WSDL or Input/Output parameters unless the source name, location, or content (format) is changed. There are settings on the Usage tab to refresh data on dashboard open, trigger, or periodically.

Yes, I would agree. If you are in the data connection and re-enter the WSDL or refresh it, the Input/output values will return to default as if you are re-configuring a new connection.

i agree that once the WSDL is imported, we only have to enter once the Input/Output values per Data Connection.

But if we have 20, 30 or 50 Data Connections each with 30 input values, that becomes very tedious. You can see the immense work involved, with errors possible. If automated by script or something similar, we can do the parameter entries quickly.
