Custom HTTP 500 Error Message

Hi Folks
does any one know how to change the standard “HTTP Status 500” error message to the way we want it, we are experiencing this error while the time out occurs. We were able to delay the frequency by increasing the time out session still we want to change the error message to the custom one. Please advise if any one has done that.
