Hi All

How we can use currency conversion in web i report? Is there any default functionality is there? If anybody knows please give step by step guide and how to do?

I have seen such a feature in Cognos (not sure how it works as I have never tried it), but not in Web-I.

A) If your data source is SAP BEx you can utilize its currency conversion feature

Or
b) You can create a separate data provider, which loads the currency conversions (from a MS Excel spreadsheet for example) and merge it on the currency key (e.g. USD, EUR, etc.) and then display the converted currency value accordingly.

Or
c) Otherwise your universe designer and DBA must include a currency conversion table in the database and universe.

Andreas: I am not a Bex query designer myself, I have more Webi experience. However, some of my counterparts are sort of saying we can’t convert currency in the same way the users are now in analyzer. I said can’t you take the same prompt inputs as the Bex conversion would? and somehow go get that exchange rate and have the conversion built into the Bex query that way - so whenever a report is run, they select the currency and ?p rate? and get back the key figures in the desired currency? initially they said no. now they are going back.

what I am wondering high level is… how can they actually utilize the Bex conversion tool already built? sounds like you are saying that is an option in the Bex query as well? is that so?

High level view:
Multi-language/translation, data access security as well as currency conversion are all built into SAP BW (which is the foundation of any SAP BEx query).
