Currency Symbol change from '£' to # in the object

Hi

I have a created an object with hard coded values in the universe using the case statement to display the curreny symbol ‘£’ and exported the universe. However, when i design the report, the symbols are displaying as’#’. Even the £ symbol in the object description also got changed as ‘#’.

I have changed the format again in the universe and refreshed my report before exporting the universe. Then its showing the correct symbol.I could not trace the reason of it.

Any information about this issue is greatly appreciated.
