Crystal reports migration

LS,

We are migrating BO (with only Crystal Reports) X1 R1 to new machines containing BO XI R4.

When I try to make a biar file with the import wizard from the old environment. I see it doesn’t export all the objects (only 38 of more than a 1000 selected objects). There are no error messages or warnings also not in the log file.

I tried to only export part of the report objects/folders. but it still stops (38 of 189 objects exported)

What could be the cause for this?
Are there known problems exporting Crystal Reports to a biar file?
Are there any alternatives?

Kind Regards,
Erik

Sorry,

I made a typing mistake.
I adjusted the text.

We are migrating BO (with only Crystal Reports) X1 R2 S1 to new machines containing BO XI R2 S4.

When I try to make a biar file with the import wizard from the old environment. I see it doesn’t export all the objects (only 38 of more than a 1000 selected objects). There are no error messages or warnings also not in the log file.

Import Wizard works like a peace of trash unless you are on SP2(for XIR2) or higher. I believe that’s the problem. Hope that helps.

Would it be an option to make a database copy of the cms and deploy it on the new server? Or does the cms database have too much references to server name, etc?

I upgraded to XI R2 SP2 thereafter I had no problems using the import wizard

Thanx for the tip!
