Crystal Reports 2013 Reporting Application Server FAIL

Hi,

We have an issue with the Crystal Reports 2013 RAS. It is imposiblo to start the server, it always fail.

Let me explain the enviroment:

At the beginning we had SAP BI4.1 SP0 in a Linux OS Machine with a Oracle 11g R2 DB. With this configuration the CR2013 RAS server did not start up.

After many test with SAP support we have upgraded the BI version to 4.1 SP01 Patch 2, the server it is still failing.

We have also repaired the installlation, recreate the SIA, but any of this actions repaired the issue.

Have you meet this issue? Do you know what we can test?

Many thanks in advance,

We are in an extremely similar situation.

Linux RH 6.4 BI 4.1 SP1

The RAS will not start and in the SIA log file we see

CrystalReports2013ReportApplicationServer stopped with exit code = 127 (0x7f)

We cannot see any other diagnostic message. The RAS “just” fails.

Hi,

I had several calls with SAP Support and the only option that they give us is to reinstall the BI41 SP01 from scratch. In our case this is not a possibility, so we are doing more tests in order to fix the issue.

It is strange because if you restart the servers and you check the serverpids at the beginning it seems that the RAS server starts but then goes down and it is imposible to start it up.

If you finally find a solution please let us know,

I am not sure if this helps, I had a similar problem with my 3.1 installation. I added the local IP in the IP address v4 place and then they started working

Hope is helps

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. What do you mean with the IP v4. Where I should add this IP? you are talking about the IP of the Server Machine.

Hi all,

Finally we have fixed the issue following the SAP NOTE:

1612745 - Crystal Reports RAS server fails to start in BI 4.0

Take care if you download the file attached and try to executed in linux. It will not work. First you should convert that file to linux format with this command: :set fileformat=unix

Also you will need to have some libraries in linux installed, in my case I didn’t have this ones:

libXext-1.0.1-2.1.i386
libXext-1.0.1-2.1.x86_64

Thanks,
