Crystal Reports 2003 on AWS Installation

Hi All,
Our customers is looking to migrate their legacy Crystal Reports 2003 application which contains about 75 to 100 reports into AWS cloud.

  1. Does SAP supports Crystal Reports 2003 version even now as its almost 12 years legacy application? We are not sure about this and trying to check with SAP.

  2. Are there any documentation exists to install Crystal Reports 2003 on AWS? Have anyone successfully installed CR in AWS?

  3. What would be effort required for this installation? Approximate is enough as we think roughly about 2 weeks including report’s migration?

  4. If SAP doesn’t support 2003, can we recommend our customers to install Crystal Reports Enterprise, and keep the reports as-is with old versions?

Please share your thoughts, and appreciate your response in this regard.

  1. There was no “Crystal Reports 2003”. If you mean does SAP still support the SDK for Visual Studio 2003, the answer is no - I don’t even thing Microsoft supports VS 2003 any more.

  2. No, there is no documentation. The version of Crystal you’re working with came out long before there was such a thing as AWS.

  3. I doubt you could get it working - the older versions of Crystal will not install or run on the newer operating systems.

  4. It would not be Crystal Enterprise, you would use Crystal Reports Server 2013 which is the latest version. Depending on which actual version of Crystal the reports were written in, they should update pretty cleanly by opening them in Crystal Reports 2013 (the desktop designer software, NOT Crystal Reports Server!) and then saving them.
