hi,
very unusual phenomena happening at our end today.
when we run the report or do any changes to the fields or formatting etc. the report works jst fine.
As sooon as we hit the menu Database > set datasource location …
the CRYSTAL REport freeezes…
any clue why is this happening.
I am using Crystal 2008 on windows XP platform.

I have the same issue - Crystal Just Freezes up.

I resolved this for myself - not sure if this will help you but when i was opening the Database Expert crystal would just freeze.
Turns out that the Database Expert popup window was off screen.
I have a monitor that I use along with my laptop when I’m in the ome office but when I was at a client I didn’t have the extra monitor so the popup window was opening off the laptop screen
to fix this just either plug into an addition monitor and drag the database expert back onto your main screen or change your Graphics propeerties
