Hi,
It has been my experience that when creating object you can use any
functions that are available in the underlying database. If you have an
Oracle database you can use decode (like SQL Server’s case function). These
type of functions don’t show up in the list of functions because they are
database dependent. In the list of functions on the reporting side however,
you see the wide range of Business Objects functions that are available.
These are generally not available on the universe side because the functions
that are used have to work in the database’s SQL statements.
